.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Showers and thunderstorms will continue for the overnight
hours tonight in the Sierra Nevada, mainly Fresno County to
Yosemite. Showers and thunderstorms are once again possible
later today (a 20-30% chance of precipitation and a 10-20%
chance of thunderstorms).
2. Another system will bring the next chance for showers and
thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday in portions of the Sierra
Nevada and adjacent foothills, mainly Fresno County northward.
2. Expect below average temperatures for the next several days,
including highs in the low 80`s for the warmest locations.

.DISCUSSION...
A frontal band is moving over the Sierra Nevada and is bringing
showers and thunderstorms from Yosemite NP to Sequoia/Kings
Canyon NP. Expect this activity to continue for the next couple
of hours. Isolated to scattered showers and a slight chance
(15-20%) of thunderstorms will continue each afternoon and
evening for the remainder of this week over the high Sierra.
However, chances for precipitation on Thursday and Friday spread
into the foothills, though mainly Fresno County northward.
Otherwise, expect temperatures to be slightly below average for
the next several days as a trough pattern continues over the
Pacific Northwest into the Golden State while high pressure
builds over the Desert Southwest. Highs will be mainly in the
80`s in both the Central Valley and Kern County desert this
week. There is a high probability (75 to near 100 percent) that
highs remain below 85 degrees in much of these areas.
Over the weekend into early next week, mainly dry conditions
prevail with no significant changes in temperatures. Although,
highs below 80 degrees in the San Joaquin Valley have a good
chance (40-55 percent) of occurrence on Monday into next
Tuesday. Low temperatures should overall be pleasant.

Showers and thunderstorms with mountain obscurations possible
over the Sierra Nevada from 19Z Tuesday to 03Z Wednesday.
Elsewhere, VFR conditions are expected through 12Z Wednesday.
