- Showers and storms continue to impact portions of the area
  this morning. These storms should work their way into western
  Iowa or south of I-80 later this morning into the early
  afternoon.
- Enjoy cooler temperatures today with highs in the 70s.
- Thursday through the weekend, expect a drier forecast and
  highs in the 80s.

Low pressure is currently centered slightly north of the
Kansas/Nebraska border early this morning. Showers and storms
continue early this morning, developing along several boundaries in
the region. There are two areas of storms to pay attention to today.
The first set of storms are along and south of Interstate 80. These
have developed along a few outflow boundaries in southeastern
Nebraska.
The storms are expected to move to the southeast through
the day. Areas where boundaries are crossing may develop a strong
storm of two. Further north, an area of convergence has set up,
extending from Battle Creek to Scribner to east of Red Oak. Some
weak WAA has set up with this boundary.  Another outflow boundary
has kicked off a broken line of storms from Rising City to Wahoo.
The general trend with storms this morning has been for a storm to
develop, pulse up for a few scans, and then weaken. With all of the
interactions between storms and boundaries, this will prove to be a
more challenging forecast. Although the severe threat is over, there
remains a chance of receiving small hail, some gusty winds, and
locally heavy rainfall. Cooler weather is on tap for today, with
highs topping out in the low to mid-70s. Lows will range from the
mid to upper 50s.
A broad upper trough extends from the Bighorns, south to the Texas
Panhandle, and up into the Mississippi River Valley. Wednesday,
the low will exit the region, lifting to the northeast. The
upper trough will deepen over the Deep South with a ridge over
the Rockies. This will progress east through the day Thursday
and remain over the region through the weekend. Expect a drying
out period from Wednesday afternoon through the end of the
forecast period. Highs each day will be in the 70s and 80s. Lows
will be in the 50s.

Ongoing showers and thunderstorms will continue to impact the
terminals for at least the next few hours. Moderate to heavy
rainfall may cause reductions to visibility and flooding
concerns. Some uncertainty remains over which areas will receive
precipitaon. Winds shifts will be possible as thunderstorms
move through the TAF sites. Otherwise, winds will be out of the
north around 5-10kts. MVFR to VFR conditions are expected
through the forecast period.
