1987 - Cold arctic air invaded the Upper Midwest, and squalls in the Lake Superior snowbelt produced heavy snow in eastern Ashland County and northern Iron County of Wisconsin. Totals ranged up to 18 inches at Mellen. In the western U.S., the record high of 69 degrees at Seattle WA was their twenty-fifth of the year, their highest number of record highs for any given year. About Oaks, Oklahoma

Oaks is a town in Cherokee and Delaware counties in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The population was 288 at the 2010 census, a decrease from the figure of 412 recorded in 2000. It's a crucial role for survival not only for animals, but to the members of the surrounding communities. Come through and take a tour of the town. Charlie Tucker Park is the community park, it has playground equipment, a track, and a full size basketball court. A local female resident has even caught a 13 pound large mouth bass at a secluded pond on boogeyman road.
