.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1241 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025
A pattern change is on tap as the upper ridge over the area will build westward and expand over the southwest states. This will allow a trough to develop over the eastern states. A strong shortwave will move through the northwest flow on Thursday and send a cold front through the area. This will deliver a cooler and much airmass to the area for the end of the week and this weekend. A few showers will be possible on Thursday ahead of the front, however most areas will remain dry. Precipitable water values plunge to below one inch for the end of the week into early next week. The cooler and drier airmass continues through Monday. By early next week, the upper ridge builds back to the east and amplifies over the southeast. This will maintain dry conditions, however temps will warm back into the mid and upper 80s as upper level heights increase. /13
