- Drier air arrives as high pressure builds in. Mostly clear sky
  and dry weather through the weekend.
- Fall-like, cool temperatures and dry weather expected through
  this weekend. A slight warming trend early next week.

A cold front has moved southeast of the region with northerly
winds advecting cooler, drier air into the region. Upper-level
northwest flow and surface high pressure will develop across the
region with clearing sky conditions and dry weather. Cool
temperatures are expected the next few nights with some 30s
possible across the higher elevations of the East Tennessee
mountains and southwest Virginia. We should remain dry with high
pressure in control through the weekend.
Upper-level ridging increases across the Lower Mississippi Valley
early next week with southwest flow aloft and a warming trends
across the Tennessee Valley. Isentropic lift will result in some
increasing mid to high level clouds, but with a dry airmass at the
surface, limited to no precipitation is currently forecast.

VFR conditions prevail at all sites through the forecast period
with N/NNE winds at all sites. MVFR cigs may remain at TRI for the
next few hours, but a gradual transition to a sct deck around 2500
to 3500 ft is expected this afternoon across the region as surface
high pressure and drier air arrives.
