.SHORT TERM... (Today through Tuesday) Issued at 1220 AM CDT MON SEP 29 2025
High pressure will remain in control of the short term. We do have an easterly flow across the area. With temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, with a few low 90s in the southwest, there is a minimal chance at seeing a brief shower anywhere across the area today and Tuesday. The better chances will be on Tuesday afternoon. However, the chances are generally only 10 percent that any of the showers would even provide enough rain to measure. We should at least see some additional cloud cover on Tuesday during the afternoon.

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday night through next Sunday) Issued at 1220 AM CDT MON SEP 29 2025
Models are finally beginning to pick up on the more eastward progression of the tropical mischief. This will result in fairly dry and warm forecast for the next week. A trough still sets up over the Southeast by middle of the week, but right now the axis will be well to our south. Finally by the weekend, we may see some southerly flow develop and potentially lift the trough and rain chances further north, but still alot of time before that becomes more apparent. With the dry weather expected, look for drought conditions to increase through the end of the week.

.FIRE WEATHER...
MinRH values will remain in the upper 30s in the southwest to low 50s in the east through Tuesday. With the eastward trend of the topical mischief in the Atlantic, MinRH values will decrease now Wednesday through at least Friday, with afternoon readings in the mid 30s to low 40s. We will need to keep an eye on this period to see if there any chance that these numbers decrease even more. Rain chances in the long-term remain limited, and drought conditions are expected to continue.
