WV imagery this afternoon shows an upper trough moving into the
ArklaTex, courtesy of weak ridging building into West Texas and
Southeast New Mexico.  This portends a dry spell for the region.
Increasing thicknesses will add 5-6 F to this afternoon`s highs over
yesterday`s.
Tonight, despite mostly clear skies promoting efficient radiational
cooling, a 25 kt LLJ will keep overnight lows ~ 5 F above
climatology.
Wednesday, highs will jump another 3-4 F, topping out ~ 7-9 F above
normal.
Wednesday night, the recurring LLJ will add another couple of
degrees to overnight lows.

Upper-level ridging hovers overhead through much of the long term
period before eventually being replaced by troughing. Temperatures
Thursday afternoon inch up a degree or two compared to Wednesday,
warming into the upper 80s to low 90s. Conditions are expected to
remain dry across the region Thursday. Late Friday and into
Saturday, a trough begins to dig into the Desert Southwest, allowing
heights to drop a touch and temperatures to respond accordingly. The
upper-level pattern is expected to remain relatively stagnant
through early next week, with troughing over the western CONUS and
ridging over the eastern CONUS. Therefore, dry conditions, highs
ranging within the upper 80s to low 90s, and morning lows in the
upper 50s to mid 60s persist each day.
