.SHORT TERM & LONG TERM... (Thursday night through Tuesday) Issued at 131 PM EDT Wed Oct 8 2025

A few showers and storms may still be possible across the far east/southeastern portions of the area on Friday depending on how far south the front is able to get before slowing down. In general though, cooler and much drier conditions are expected for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Friday is forecast to have the coolest high temperatures, ranging from the mid 70s to near 80 before gradually beginning to warm again through the rest of the period. The coolest low temperatures are forecast to arrive Saturday night into Sunday night once additional dry air has filtered in and cloud cover moves out. Lows both Saturday night and Sunday night are forecast in the 50s (!!!). Both lows and highs will begin a gradual warming trend heading into early next week.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 716 PM EDT Wed Oct 8 2025

Light scattered showers may continue to affect areas around the DHN and ECP terminals through the rest of this evening. Low cigs are expected to develop around the VLD terminal with potentially LIFR levels around daybreak. A cold front will be passing through the region Thursday, bringing chances for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms for all terminals except DHN from mid- morning through the evening hours from the northeast to southwest. All terminals can expect gusty winds from the northeast around 20 kts during the afternoon, continuing into the evening. Ceilings will be adjusting up and down from VFR to MVFR throughout the afternoon into the end of the TAF period.

&&

.MARINE... Issued at 131 PM EDT Wed Oct 8 2025

East to northeast winds are forecast to increase to advisory levels late Thursday into Thursday night in the wake of a cold front with some gusts to gale force also possible. These breezy conditions will cause seas to increase as well, especially offshore, and generally last into the weekend. Conditions are forecast to gradually improve late weekend into early next week.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 131 PM EDT Wed Oct 8 2025

Mainly dry conditions are expected through the end of the week with chances for wetting rains remaining low to near-zero. The only chance for rain will be isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms across southeast Alabama this afternoon and again on Thursday across our Georgia and Florida counties ahead of an approaching cold front. As the frontal system moves through Thursday afternoon, expect breezy northeast winds to develop. Breezy northeasterly winds are expected to continue into the weekend and may create some elevated fire weather concerns, although relative humidities are forecast to remain above critical thresholds.

&&

.HYDROLOGY... Issued at 103 AM EDT Wed Oct 8 2025

Isolated to scattered showers are possible this afternoon and again on Thursday but rainfall amounts are not forecast to be significant enough to cause any issues and drought conditions will persist.
