.KEY MESSAGES...

- Clouds clear later today with quiet weather expected into the weekend. Temperatures will continue to run 5-7 degrees above normal through the week.

&&

.SHORT TERM... /Issued 1126 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025/ /Overnight through Tuesday Night/

Water vapor imagery shows a trough axis spreading through West Texas at this hour with a tap into Pacific moisture resulting in thick high cloud cover across the region. A few light radar returns associated with this area of ascent are noted but most if not all of this precipitation is evaporating before hitting the ground. This disturbance will continue to move east overnight with cloud cover clearing from west to east through the day Tuesday. With mostly sunny skies expected, high temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s with a continued light easterly surface wind. Clearing skies will allow temps to drop a few degrees lower Tuesday night with readings in the low to mid 60s.

.LONG TERM... /Issued 1126 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025/ /Wednesday through Monday/

A continued period of quiet weather is expected through the end of the week and into the weekend as mid level ridging will largely remain in control over the Southern Plains. By this weekend, a weak upper trough will meander westward across Louisiana while troughing amplifies over the western CONUS leaving North Texas displaced from both the better moisture to our south and better lift off to our northwest. This should continue to support a quiet forecast, although humidity may begin to tick upwards a bit by late weekend. Temperatures will continue to run 5-7 degrees above normal each afternoon with readings in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

VFR will prevail through the period with continued thick high clouds this morning thinning out after midday. Some very light precipitation is noted on radar mainly west and northwest of the D10 airspace. This is mainly virga, although a few sprinkles could be hitting the ground. East-northeast winds around 5 kt will continue through the period.
