.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1226 AM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025
An eastern states upper trof lifts well off to the northeast through Sunday while an upper ridge develops over the central states then builds into the interior eastern states. A surface ridge meanwhile builds into much of the eastern states. The upper ridge remains roughly in the same position Monday into Tuesday during which time Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine (PTC 9)is forecast to approach the southeast coast of the US. Please see the National Hurricane Center for the latest on PTC 9. The overall pattern maintains a deep layer dry northerly flow over the forecast area which will promote dry conditions through Tuesday, and are anticipated to continue into Wednesday as well. There is the potential for an upper low to develop over the southeast states Thursday into Friday while a surface ridge meanwhile comes to dominate the eastern states, but this depends in part on the eventual movement of PTC 9. For now, have continued with small pops returning to coastal portions of the area on Thursday, followed by slight chance to chance pops for Friday generally for the central and southern portions of the area.
Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 80s, then Sunday through Wednesday tend to range from 85 to 90. Progressively cooler daytime highs follow for the rest of the week, with highs on Friday in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Lows Saturday night and Sunday night range from the lower/mid 60s inland to near 70 at the immediate coast. Lows Tuesday night and Wednesday night will be similar, then lows trend cooler to finish out the week with lows Friday night ranging from the upper 50s well inland to the mid 60s at the coast. A low risk of rip currents is anticipated through Wednesday. /29
