.NEAR TERM... (Rest of today and tonight) Issued at 1241 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025
Besides scattered cumulus this afternoon, will see increasing mid/high-level cloud-cover over western Oklahoma and western north Texas as the moist side of an approaching upper wave moves into the panhandles. This trough will progress slowly, but will see broken to overcast skies reach central Oklahoma this evening with mid/high- level clouds remaining over the area tonight. Still expect above- average temperatures to top out in the 80`s. As mentioned in the previous AFD, chances for measurable rainfall tonight are extremely low due to the deep/dry sub-cloud layer. Still, a few sprinkles are possible as the upper wave draws closer. Overnight low temperatures will be several degrees warmer due to cloudy skies and decrease mainly into the 60`s.

.SHORT TERM... (Tuesday through Wednesday night) Issued at 1241 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025
The upper wave will track across the FA on Tuesday and reach eastern Oklahoma by Tuesday evening as a shortwave ridge moves in from the west. This will prompt mid-level height rises and skies will clear from west to east throughout the day. Above-average temperatures and dry conditions continue through the short term. Parts of southwest Oklahoma and western north Texas will be hot, with highs in the low-90`s on Wednesday.

.LONG TERM... (Thursday through Sunday) Issued at 1234 are AM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025
The mid and upper ridge will be the primary weather feature Thursday into most of Friday. Therefore, afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s each day with dry conditions. By late Friday, a southerly wind may begin to increase some as a trough begins to move across the Inter-Mountain West. Late Saturday into Sunday this trough will move across central parts of the country, but may deamplify as it does. For now will add a low chance (20 percent) of showers and thunderstorms across the northern third of Oklahoma for mainly Saturday night and early Sunday.
