The City of Bulverde ( buul-VUR-dee) is located in Comal County in the State of Texas. Bulverde is known for the German emigrant history of the town's founders. Bulverde was originally named Piepers Settlement after a prominent German pioneer. Its population was 5,692 at the 2020 census, up from 4,630 at the 2010 census.
