.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 200 PM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025
A pleasant weekend is in store, with temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s Saturday and lower 70s (north) to upper 70s central and south Sunday. Through Sunday afternoon, dry weather is confidently forecast, as a ridge of high pressure moves through the region. Breezy conditions (SE 15-30 mph) combined with well above normal temperatures on Sunday will lead to elevated fire weather conditions for unharvested fields, especially NW of the Quad Cities. Following the high pressure ridge, Sunday night and Monday may see some shower and thunderstorm activity as a shortwave moves through the Upper Midwest. The latest NBM has 20-40% chances for rain north and west of the Quad Cities.
Looking Tuesday through Thursday, another passing high pressure system at the surface is forecast by the bulk of available guidance, resulting in pleasant temperatures in the 60s and 70s each day, and lows in the 40s and 50s. There could be a few bouts of passing showers as upper level energy moves east over the broad upper ridge which is indicated by models over the southern CONUS.

A cold front is now just south of Moline as of Midnight, and this will bring a VFR/clear night and next 24 hours to locations north of it, including all of MLI, CID, and DBQ`s forecast. Burlington, and the rest of southeast Iowa will see periods of dense shallow fog into the early morning hours Sunday. The dense fog period at BRL will be expected from now through 10Z, but visibility will be variable, due to the shallow nature of the fog.
