.NOW...A LARGE BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES THROUGH DAYBREAK. THROUGH 5 AM...THE BAND OF SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL EXTEND FROM JUST WEST OF HEREFORD NORTHWARD TO GUYMON OKLAHOMA. SINCE THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL MOVE OVER MUCH OF THE SAME LOCATIONS...SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS COULD OCCUR. SOME OF THE COMMUNITIES TO BE AFFECTED THROUGH 5 AM INCLUDE HEREFORD...VEGA...BOYS RANCH...DUMAS...GRUVER...AND GUYMON OKLAHOMA. IN ADDTION...DEVELOPING SHOWERS MAY AFFECT AMARILLO AND CANYON. SOME STORMS MAY APPROACH SEVERE LEVELS WITH WINDS GUSTING OVER 50 MPH. OTHERWISE...HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREAT. RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR WILL OCCUR WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS ALONG WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM THE PACIFIC IS BEING PULLED OVER THE AREA AS VERY STRONG SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW CONTINUES. A DISTURBANCE TO THE WEST WILL APPROACH AND MAINTAIN THE MOIST FLOW THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. THE CHANCES FOR ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL REMAIN HIGH. SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN. PERSONS TRAVELING ACROSS THE PANHANDLES OVERNIGHT SHOULD BE WARY OF PONDED WATER ON ROADWAYS. FLOODED LOW SPOTS CAN BE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT.
